Difficulty: Easy

Length: 0.5 miles

Terrain: Tarmac and pressed gravel/chalk

About

This short stroll takes you along the clifftop overlooking the blue waters of Lulworth Cove, and gives you spectacular views of the surrounding dramatic rocks.

The trail begins at Lulworth Cove Car Park, where you exit between the Visitors centre and Finleys Cafe. This puts you straight out onto a quiet road, where you’ll see a mini roundabout in front of you. Turn right here, then follow the road for about 80 metres and you’ll see two similar-looking pressed gravel/chalk paths on your left- make sure you take the second one!

This path starts with an incline, then evens out more the further you go. About half way along you will find a viewpoint overlooking the rugged Stair Hole on your right. Then as you reach the end of the path you will see Lulworth Cove on your left.

There is a small and steep footpath that continues down the cliff towards the cove, but this is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Alternative Route

You can also get right down to Lulworth Coves pebble beach if you head straight across the mini roundabout instead of turning right. Following the road it’s only 0.2 miles from the car park, so definitely worth the wander.
